وعن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : "من قرأ حرفًا من كتاب الله فله حسنة، والحسنة بعشر أمثالها لا أقول: ألم حرف، ولكن ألف حرف، ولام حرف، وميم حرف"((راوه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح)).
Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter."

Über das Rezitieren des Koran
"Wer auch immer einen Buchstaben aus dem Quran liest, wird eine Hasanah (Belohnung, gute Tat) dafür bekommen und die Hasanah wird verzehnfacht. Ich sage nicht, dass Alif Lam Mim ein Buchstabe ist, sondern Alif ist ein Buchstabe, Lam ist ein Buchstabe und Mim ist ein Buchstabe."
Hadith bei Tirmidhi
"Tirmizi bilježi od Abdullaha b. Mes'uda, radijallahu anhu, da je Vjerovjesnik, sallallahu alejhi ve sellem, rekao: "Ko prouči harf iz Allahove Knjige, njemu pripada dobro djelo koje se vrednuje do deset puta. Ja ne kažem da je 'elif-lam-mim' jedan harf, već je elif harf, lam je harf i mim je harf."
